Tropical Hurricane in Arabian Sea: National Center of Meteorology Issues First-Class Alert, No Impact on UAE

ABU DHABI, June 13 / WAM / The National Center of Meteorology classified the tropical situation in the Arabian Sea as a “first-class hurricane” that will last 24 hours without any impact on the country.

The cyclone is centered in the eastern Arabian Sea at latitude 21.0 north and longitude 66.8, with wind speeds around the center ranging from 145 to 155 km/h, with formations of cumulus rain clouds around the depression.

Through numerical models and reports issued by the Regional Hurricane Monitoring Center, the hurricane is expected to head north towards the Indian-Pakistani coasts, where the wind speed ranges around the center from 130-150 km/h and the hurricane’s movement speed is 6 km/h.
