The passage of the bill through both the House and Senate, driven by Republican support, marks a notable shift in federal healthcare policy. Impact on States and Vulnerable Populations

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates the legislation could lead to a 4% decrease in household resources for those wiht the lowest incomes, largely due to the combined impact of Medicaid reductions and changes to food assistance programs.
An estimated 17 million Americans could lose health insurance coverage as a result, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. This includes a substantial number of individuals dually eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid, who rely on the combined coverage for essential care.
