Trump was part of ‘criminal conspiracy’ to nullify election, commission says

(CNN) — The ex-president Donald Trump and a right-wing lawyer were part of a “criminal conspiracy” to nullify the 2020 presidential election, the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riots alleges in a court filing Wednesday.

The filing is part of an attempt to convince a judge to allow the panel access to emails from attorney John Eastman, who is claiming attorney-client privilege. The commission says he helped orchestrate the plot.
