Director Tumpal Tampubolon’s debut feature-length film entitled Crocodile Tears formed a partnership with a sales agent based in Dubai, Cercamon. Through this agreement, Cercamon has the rights to sell the film Crocodile Tears globally.

Crocodile Tears is produced by Talamedia. The collaboration between Talamedia and Cercamon took place at the 2024 Hong Kong International Film Festival & TV Market (Filmart) which took place on March 11–14.

“It took us seven years to develop and realize the film. “We are very happy that Cercamon is partnering with us to introduce our film to the world,” said Talamedia producer Mandy Marahimin, in a press release received by Media Indonesia, Tuesday, (19/3).

“The diversity of Southeast Asian films has always attracted us. “Our enthusiasm became even more intense when we discovered the pre-teaser for this film during the funding phase,” continued Sebastien Chesneau on behalf of Cercamon.

The film Crocodile Tears tells the story of Johan who lives alone with his mother on a crocodile farm in West Java. The mother and child live in voluntary exile with a white crocodile they trust so much. Their lives are disrupted when Johan falls in love with one of the girls in town, Arumi, triggering a series of events that threaten the balance of their lives.

The film Crocodile Tears is currently in the final stages of post-production. The film is scheduled to enter the festival circuit in 2024. Some of the names who have appeared as actors in this film include Marissa Anita, Yusuf Mahardika, and Zulfa Maharani.
