Turkey gives up resistance to Sweden and Finland joining NATO – Nato

MADRID – Turkey has given up its opposition to the admission of Sweden and Finland to NATO. During the NATO summit in Madrid, Turkey will support the invitation to the two Nordic countries to become members of the alliance, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö announced on Tuesday evening. Ankara justified its previous blockade with the alleged Swedish and Finnish support for “terrorist organizations”.
