TV Flieden and TV Neuhof Invite Youth Handball Teams to August Tournament
Flieden/Neuhof – In a bid to inspire young athletes and create a regional sporting highlight, TV Flieden and TV Neuhof have announced the organization of a national handball tournament at the end of August. The event, initiated by Holger Hölzinger, aims to bring together youth teams from across Hesse, fostering a sense of community and exchange among clubs.
Holger Hölzinger’s Vision for Youth Sports
“We want to create a highlight in the region for younger years,” explains Holger Hölzinger, the driving force behind the tournament. As a daycare manager and long-time youth and current female trainer of TV Flieden, Hölzinger understands the importance of a strong foundation for the success of clubs. “It is necessary to do something,” he emphasizes.
Collaboration Between TV Flieden and TV Neuhof
The boards of TV Neuhof and Flieden, which form a syndicate in youth, were enthusiastic about the idea and agreed to host the tournament. The event is scheduled for the weekend of August 30th and 31st, featuring group games on Saturday and knockout games and finals on Sunday.
Focus on Younger Youth: E to C Teams Welcome
The tournament is aimed at all clubs in Hesse from the E to C youth. “We want to concentrate specifically on the younger years,” explains Hölzinger. Teams from all over Hesse are invited to participate, with a registration fee of 80 euros per team, which includes the tournament and overnight stay. Meals are provided.
Networking and Learning Opportunities
The basic idea of the tournament is to bring clubs together and facilitate exchange. “The children should get to know each other and learn from each other,” says Hölzinger. The first clubs to register include Flieden, Maintal, and a club from the Gießen area.
Additional Activities and Registration Details
The children can spend the night at the TV hall, and there will be a beach handball tournament on Saturday and other promotions. Registration is open until August 15th and can be directed to Holger Hölzinger at [email protected].
Evergreen Context: The Importance of Youth Sports
Youth sports play a crucial role in fostering physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline. According to a study by the Aspen Institute, 70% of young people drop out of sports by the age of 13 due to a lack of engagement and enjoyment. Events like the TV Flieden and TV Neuhof tournament aim to reverse this trend by providing engaging and inclusive opportunities for young athletes.
