The Twins announced Wednesday that they have placed Puerto Rican shortstop Carlos Correa on the 10-day injured list due to plantar fasciitis.

Although Correa had a couple of days off last week to rest the injury he has been dealing with in his left foot since last May, the Puerto Rican had to leave Monday’s game in Cincinnati following seeing the discomfort worsen. when he was looking for a fly ball in the short field in left field.

A day following Correa underwent an MRI scan, the team made the decision to disable him. In a corresponding move, Minnesota promoted outfielder Trevor Larnach from Triple-A St. Paul.

Correa and the Twins have been trying to control the pain in the shortstop’s foot since the discomfort began, but they have not had much success. Correa has been playing all year, because he felt that his team needed him on the field, even though he has not been able to be in 100% condition.
