Two boys died and three people were injured, one of them seriously, in a serious traffic accident in the Karlsruhe district.

Late on Thursday evening, a 43-year-old’s car, in which the children were also sitting, turned in a left-hand bend for an initially unclear reason and crashed its rear into the front of a 54-year-old’s car, a police spokeswoman said early in the morning . Accordingly, the younger driver’s car left the road and then stopped.

Six-year-old among injured

Two boys aged eight and ten died at the scene of the accident near Waldbronn. Ambulances took the seriously injured 43-year-old and two slightly injured people, a six-year-old and the 54-year-old, to hospitals. The police originally spoke of three seriously injured people. It was initially unclear whether the 43-year-old was the father of the three boys.

The police and fire brigade secured the scene of the accident with a large contingent on site. The damaged cars were towed away. According to the spokeswoman, Herrenalber Strasse remained completely closed for around five and a half hours.
