Tennessee: Two children were tragically killed by the attack of pitbull dogs kept at home. The mother was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. The incident took place in North Memphis, Tennessee on Wednesday. A 2-year-old girl and a 5-month-old boy were killed in a vicious dog attack, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said.
The children, whose entire bodies were torn and cut, died on the spot and the mother, who bled to death and was seriously injured in the attack by the dogs, was admitted to a Memphis hospital. Police said two pitbull dogs attacked the children and the mother was bitten while trying to save the children. The dogs were later taken into custody by animal control.
The sheriff’s office said they are investigating the incident and have not decided whether to file charges. The police warned that it is impossible to tell when dogs kept at home will become angry and those who leave children alone should be careful.
