U19 women celebrate opening victory in European Championship qualification

The Austrian women’s U19 national football team started the second phase of the European Championship qualification on Wednesday in Novara with a 2-0 win once morest Bosnia-Herzegovina. The goals were scored by Nicole Ojukwu from the penalty spot (18′) and Isabel Aistleitner (47′). It’s once morest Greece on Saturday and once morest Italy on Tuesday (3 p.m. each time). The finals are scheduled for July in Belgium.

“In the first quarter of an hour we weren’t good in the game and acted visibly nervous. The opening goal gave us a lot of peace and security. We played very good football, especially following the break, and in the end we really need to win the game better. That remains the only point of criticism today,” explained team manager Hannes Spilka. “Nevertheless, we are satisfied, because a win at the start is often more difficult than you think. Now the full focus is on the game once morest Greece at the weekend.”
