Dubai: A cargo ship leaving the UAE sank off the coast of Iran. There are 30 people on board, including Indians. News agencies quoted the ship’s owners as saying that all but two had been rescued. The incident took place off the coast of Azaluya in Iran. The ship sank in a strong wind at dawn.

Sixteen people were initially rescued. 11 Park provided life-saving equipment. One person was rescued by a nearby tanker. The Salmi 6, owned by Salim Al Makrani Company in the UAE, sank. The ship was carrying cargo, including cars. The trip was to Umm Khazar in Iraq. The employees are from India, Pakistan, Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia.
