UAEM medical students win third place in the National Physiology Contest

Students from the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico obtained third place in the XI National Physiology Contest, highly demanding competition that evaluates the knowledge of medical students.

Rubén Eduardo Martínez López, María Fernanda Trujillo Ocaña, Maximiliano Malvaez Román and César Rojas Alegría stated that, in this way, The UAEM supports its educational leadership, since the academic requirement of the competition is similar to each period of evaluation of teachers.

The contest, organized by the Mexican Society of Physiological Sciences and which annually brings together Mexican institutions of public and private education in the field of medicine, consisted of two stages, which were carried out entirely online through educational platforms.

In the semifinal stage, the Autônoma Mexiquense students answered 100 questions individually, each one in a maximum of one minute., on topics related to physiology, a fundamental basis of knowledge of medical science, as well as the behavior of the human body.

After adding the scores of each team member and obtaining one of the five best group averages, the young Auriverdes were selected to compete in the finals., which consisted of answering 51 questions in an approximate time of 20 minutes.

After thanking the teachers of the Baccalaureate in Surgeons and the support of colleagues for their efforts, before and during the competition, University students expressed the importance of taking advantage of this type of competition to publicize the name of the institution, as well as to accredit their academic training at UAEM.
