Kottaikal – Malayali won first place in Banias Spike Avansare Season 5 Panchagusti competition held in Abu Dhabi. Paravakal Ubaid, a native of Kottaikal, won the title following defeating many contestants from countries like Nigeria, Uganda and Pakistan.

The match was held at Al Ghazal Golf Course. In a fierce competition, the second place is for Richard from Nigeria. Obaid was awarded Rs 50,000 and a trophy. Apart from Ubaid, 3 Malayalees were in the competition. They were eliminated in the first round. Obaid has been working as a graphic designer in a firm in Abu Dhabi for 4 years.

Earlier, he represented various clubs in Kottakkall in the Pancha Gusti in the District Kerala Festival and won the first place. So far in 53 races participated in all the first place. Earlier, Ubaid was selected as the best player in the tug-of-war competition held in Dubai.
