UK stock indices rose at the end of today’s session; Investing.com Britain 100 rose about 0.14%

Investing.com – UK stocks were higher following the close on Monday, as gains in the , , and .

At the end of trading in London, it closed up 0.14%.

Among the best performers of the day were Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:), which rose 1.81%, or 0.86 points, to trade at 48.05 at the close. On the other hand, Persimmon PLC (LON:) shares continued to rise by 1.17%, or 16.00 points, to close at 1,388.50, while Rightmove PLC (LON:) shares increased by 0.95%, or 5.40 points, to 571.60 at the end of the session.

As for the weakest performance at the end of today’s trading, Ocado Group PLC (LON:) shares closed down 4.25%, or 32.20 points, and traded at 725.00 levels at the close. Rentokil Initial PLC (LON:) shares declined by 1.52%, or 6.70 points, to a price of 433.30, while DCC plc (LON:) shares closed down by 1.46%, or 84.00 points, to a price of 5,682.00.

The number of stocks that declined the most exceeded the number of stocks that closed higher in trading on the London Stock Exchange, with 0 versus 0.

Gold futures for February delivery rose 0.64%, or 13.20, and closed at $2,064.50 per ounce. As for trading in other commodities, WTI crude oil futures contracts for delivery in February fell by 0.54%, or 0.40, and reached a price of $73.49 per barrel, while the March contract for Brent oil contracts recorded a decrease of 0.26%, or 0.21 points, and closed at $78.80 per barrel.

The GBP/USD pair remained stable at 0.02% and traded at 1.27 levels, while the EUR/GBP pair remained unchanged at regarding 0.01% and reached 0.87 levels.

Dollar index contracts traded down by 0.12% at 101.36.
