Widespread air alert across Ukraine, explosions in kyiv
Explosions were heard Friday morning in Kiev, announced its mayor, Vitali Klitschko, following strikes targeted several cities across Ukraine, leading to the triggering of a national air alert around 6 a.m. , Paris time.
Three people were injured in a strike on Konotop, in the Sumy oblast, where a residential building was notably hit, according to the local military administration. In Odessa, a building was also damaged following a strike overnight but the resulting fire was quickly brought under control, said the city’s mayor, Hennady Troukhanov.
Authorities also reported explosions in the Dnipro region. According to the army, “guided missiles” were fired by Russian Tu-95MS bombers.
The city of Kharkiv suffered at least ten strikes in two waves which until further notice did not cause any casualties, according to the head of the oblast’s military administration, Oleh Synehoubov. Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the strikes were carried out by S-300 and X-22 missiles, and disrupted the electricity supply to transport.
In Lviv, Mayor Andri Sadovy reported “two strikes” in an attack carried out in total by « dix [drones iraniens] Shahid » at the regional level. The manager mentioned “a fire in a crucial facility”without providing further details.
The Russian Defense Ministry, for its part, announced that a Ukrainian drone had been destroyed above the Kursk oblast, north of the Ukrainian border.
