The Ukrainian Parliament adopted this Thursday at first reading a bill banning the Orthodox Church dependent on the Moscow Patriarchate, the latter supporting the Russian invasion of Ukraine, deputies said. “It’s a historic decision,” MP Inna Sovsoun said on Facebook. According to another parliamentarian, Yaroslav Jelezniak, the bill was approved by 267 elected officials, well beyond the required majority of 226 votes.
