Ukrainian President Zelensky said on the 8th that Ukraine will still strive to hand over its record before the end of this year. Despite the difficulties on the front, he remained convinced that Ukraine would ultimately succeed in its war once morest Russia.
In a video interview at the Archyde.com NEXT conference held in New York City, the United States, Zelensky admitted that the Ukrainian army’s counterattack on the Russian-occupied areas in southern Ukraine has been slow, but said that it has formulated a battlefield plan for Ukraine in 2024. But he said he might not disclose the contents.
“We have a plan, we have very specific target cities, very specific directions. I can’t share all the details, but we have some slow progress in the south and also in the east,” Zelensky said. He also said, “There are also some, I think good developments, near Kherson Oblast. I am sure that we will succeed, although it will be difficult.”
Archyde.com pointed out that in a recent interview, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny admitted that the “stalemate” in the Russia-Ukraine war and the move towards a war of attrition may play into Russia’s hands, and also warned that the counterattack once morest Russia may not be swift. Zelensky’s tone clearly contrasted with the more pessimistic assessments of his top generals following achieving “a deep and outstanding breakthrough.”

Zelensky stressed that the Ukrainian people need to continue to be united. He carefully stated that Kiev was deeply grateful for the military aid provided by Europe and the United States. Without their help, Ukraine would not be able to maintain its record. However, he also said that the West’s decision to provide military aid was “sometimes a little slow.”
