ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — A young man wearing a helmet and a bulletproof vest randomly stabbed five people at an outdoor cafe in northwest Turkey on Tuesday before being detained by police, media and authorities.

The 18-year-old attacker, identified as Arda K., live-streamed Monday’s attack on social media through a camera on his vest, HaberTurk TV reported. The victims were people relaxing after prayers at a mosque in Eskisehir, about 230 kilometers (143 miles) west of the capital Ankara.

According to the governor of Eskisehir, the young man was arrested after a police chase.

Five injured people were taken to hospital, two of them seriously, according to the state Anadolu news agency. The attacker was also carrying an ax but did not appear to have used it.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said an investigation was ongoing, while HaberTurk and other media said the gunman was believed to have been under the influence of video games.
