UN: Russia’s war in Ukraine has taken a terrible toll

He said the war’s damage would be felt for generations and reiterated his call for Moscow to end the war immediately.

In its latest report, the UN human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine said that since February 24, 2022, it had been able to confirm that 10,582 civilians had died as a result of the conflict.

It confirmed that another 19,875 civilians were injured.

“The real number is likely to be much higher,” the mission stressed.
