Unconscious patient hospitalized after fire at Marchant psychiatric hospital in Toulouse

The Gérard Marchant psychiatric hospital in Toulouse, located on Route d’Espagne, was hit by a fire late Monday afternoon. Around 5:30 p.m., firefighters intervened for a fire located in a room, they evacuated a dozen people.

An unconscious patient was evacuated in an emergency

Firefighters reported on Tuesday, September 24, that they had evacuated “12 people inhaled fumes”which they left behind after medical examinations. “A victim was also removed unconscious from the room by fire safety personnel,” specifies the SDIS 31. The victim was rushed to the emergency room of Purpan Hospital.

The firefighters mobilized seven vehicles for this intervention. The fire was extinguished before the arrival of the emergency services.
