“Mycoplasma pneumonia can occur with either low or high fever, with or without shortness of breath. The most important thing is that very often we encounter mixed infections. That is, such children, in addition to mycoplasma, may have some other respiratory virus – it doesn’t matter whether it’s rhinovirus, adenovirus or parainfluenza,” says the city’s chief pediatric infectious disease specialist.
