Underwater defence: iXblue escapes Thales in favor of Groupe Gorgé

Battle in deep waters. After months of bidding, the French nugget of maritime autonomy iXblue will, according to our information, fall into the hands of the Gorgé group and suddenly escape the group Thales. This company manufactures inertial units useful for submarines to know their position while being undetectable as well as essential technologies in the hunting of sea mines.

The sale was sealed on Thursday night at a price more than a hundred million euros higher than the approximately 300 million euros anticipated at the start of the sale process at the end of 2021, several sources reported. Friday evening, Gorgé thus confirmed that he had entered into exclusive negotiations with the shareholders of IXblue for an amount of 410 million euros. The group, whose stock price was suspended on Friday, also outstripped the Adagia fund.
