UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti, in response to a question regarding the situation in the south and UNIFIL’s activities, indicated that “UNIFIL’s mandate includes preventing hostile activities and maintaining stability in the south,” and said: “Part of our mission is to ensure that there are no Weapons or missiles in our area of operations, and this is done in coordination with the Lebanese Armed Forces.
He added, “We have activities to prevent missile launches, in addition to patrolling our area of operations, and these are regular activities.”
He pointed out that “UNIFIL is carrying out its mandate, and these activities are part of this mission.”
