United States Military Observes Dajabón Border Crossing: Insights into Binational Trade and Haitian Entry into Dominican Territory

This Monday, United States military personnel visited the Dajabón border crossing, where they were able to observe the entry of thousands of Haitians into Dominican territory to participate in binational trade.

The American soldiers were identified as Jacobo Mormón and Nail Law, both with the rank of major, a military source informed LISTÍN DIARIARIO.

At the moment, the real reason for the Americans’ visit is unknown.

The American soldiers were received by Colonel Freddy Soto Thormann, director of the Specialized Land Border Security Corps (Cesfront) and Lieutenant Colonel Yoel Martes Rodríguez, commander of the Tenth Battalion of the Army, who showed them the development of the market and how the security in the area.

At present, it is unknown which other locations U.S. soldiers visiting the border will visit following violent protests in Haiti by Haitians demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry.
