The implications of Baldur’s Gate 3’s major patch aren’t always clear. Astarion has mastered a new type of romance, and Karlach is surprisingly tender. Fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 noticed positive changes following the fourth major patch. Kissing animations have gotten better, but sometimes there are questions. In the case of Karlach, the new animation works fine: it turns out to be a rather tender scene. But something clearly needs to be done with Astarion’s animation. For some reason, he practices a “non-contact” kiss: the characters get closer and it seems that they are regarding to kiss – but in the end their lips never reach the other character.
