After the incident of child abuse in the Garderêve nursery in Jdeidet Al-Matn, Caretaker Minister of Health Firas Al-Abyad confirmed that he “called an emergency meeting of the Juvenile Protection Committee following the abuse video,” pointing out that “teams from the Ministry are conducting monitoring tours of nurseries.”
In an interview with Al-Hadath today, Tuesday, he said: “Surprise visits to nurseries must be increased, and all nursery workers must undergo training.”
Al-Abyadh stressed that “the ministry is communicating with the families of abused children.”
He continued, “The teacher who filmed the video shocked me more than the one who abused the children.”
And the pioneers of social networking sites had circulated yesterday, Monday, a video showing the abuse of children inside a nursery.
