In the early hours of the morning there was a serious sexual assault in Urnäsch AR on Saturday. According to the findings of the Appenzell Ausserrhoden canton police, the unknown perpetrator followed his future victim at 5.15 a.m. from the village center in the direction of Zürchersmühle.
He caught up with the woman on Herisauerstrasse, dragged her into the adjacent meadow and there, using massive violence, grabbed her from under her clothes. He then left his victim and fled on foot towards the village of Urnäsch.
The perpetrator wore a black balaclava and is estimated to be between 30 and 60 years old. He is of normal stature and wore light-colored jeans and a dark jacket. According to the victim, he spoke in an Eastern Swiss dialect and had noticeably soft hands.
The Appenzell Ausserrhoden canton police ask people who can provide information regarding the incident to call 071 343 66 66. The police are particularly interested in whether there were other similar attacks on New Year’s Eve in Urnäsch or whether the unknown perpetrator was noticed because of his behavior or his clothes that were possibly soiled during the crime.
