Al-Marsad newspaper: The Washington Post reported that the United States and several Arab partners are preparing a detailed plan to reach a comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians that includes a “specific timetable” for establishing a Palestinian state.

The newspaper indicated that the announcement of the agreement may come within the next few weeks, noting that it is not clear whether Israel will agree to such a step.

The newspaper, citing American and Arab officials, said that the key to the plan and its announcement will be reaching an initial ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

She continued, during the pause, which is expected to last at least 6 weeks, the United States plans to take initial steps towards implementing the plan, including forming an interim Palestinian government, and trying to mobilize more support for this step.

Evacuation of West Bank settlements

The newspaper explained that the proposed plan includes steps that were previously rejected by Israel and are unlikely to be approved by the current right-wing government, including the evacuation of many West Bank settlements.
