Tokyo: A US Army Osprey plane has crashed into the sea near southern Japan. There were six people in the plane. The body of one of them and the wreckage of the plane were found by the Japan Coast Guard.
Coast Guard spokesman Kazuo Ogawa said no further information was available on the cause of the accident or the current condition of the others.
The plane crashed following taking off from the US Marine Corps Air Station in Yamaguchi.
