US contracts for natural gas rise, supported by the rise in global prices

Gas contracts for September delivery ended the trading session on the NYMEX, up 13.7 cents, or 1.5 percent, to record at a settlement of $9.330 per million British thermal units.

Prices stabilized following a volatile session on Tuesday when they hit $10 per million thermal units for the first time since 2008, before pulling back on news of a delay to the Freeport plant’s return.
