Alongside its political battle, the Vlaams Belang is waging a sort of cultural battle that fits into a broader context within the Flemish nationalist world. “The Flemish movement already has its Doorbraak site. It is no coincidence that the “editor-in-chief” of V-Nieuws is Jonas Naeyaert. Former president of the nationalist student club KVHV, he was the editor of the online media Sceptr (now PalNWS). Since the launch of the site, he has swapped his hat as “spokesperson” for Vlaams Belang for editor-in-chief of V-Nieuws.
For Benjamin Biard, it is difficult to measure the real impact that this V-Nieuws site will have: “It is first and foremost the presence on social networks which, from a partisan and electoral point of view, will playing for Vlaams Belang.
