The small group gathered at the foot of the steps. There are the sisters, the mothers, the fathers, the cousins… The survivors. Drop by drop, they enter the building, its blackened walls, its burning smell, its tattered memories. At 12 chemin des Barques, in the Mas du Taureau district of Vaulx-en-Velin, life froze overnight from Thursday to Friday. A fire destroyed the building and took the life of ten people, including four children. This is the first time, this Tuesday, December 20 in the followingnoon, that relatives are allowed to enter to collect the few things that can still be saved.
