The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) intercepted two aircraft that violated Venezuelan airspace.

In a first procedure, the Venezuelan integral aerospace system detected and intercepted a Cessna-type aircraft that violated national airspace, landing at dawn in the city of Acarigua, Portuguesa state. It was learned that it came from Mexico and took off to make an internal route, changing course towards the southeast, turning off the communications and transponder systems, until it was detected by Venezuelan radars.

The pilots managed to escape from the authorities.

According to the information published by Major General Domingo Hernández Lárez, operational commander of the Fanb, the aircraft might be used for drug trafficking purposes, since the identifications on the fuselage had been erased.

In Lake Maracaibo

In a second procedure, the Bolivarian Military Aviation intercepted a “hostile aircraft” over Lake Maracaibo in Zulia state.

The plane used a cargo ship as a shield to avoid being shot down.
