Venice – From 2024 day tourists in Venice will have to pay admission. Tourists who do not stay overnight in the lagoon city have to pay a contribution of five euros, the municipality’s tourism committee decided. The sum is to be collected in a test phase over 30 days, especially on public holidays and long weekends. The municipality announced that the exact days on which day tourists will be asked to pay will be published in the next few weeks.
