Two calls occupied, on Saturday followingnoon, the Victoriaville firefighters who, around 1:30 p.m., were called for a mulch fire in a flower bed at the A&W restaurant on Jutras Boulevard East.
An incident, without consequence, followed around 3:25 p.m. by a call for a residence fire on Laroche Street. “A flowerpot on a balcony caught fire, presumably due to a cigarette butt. A neighbour, who gave the alert, managed to extinguish everything with a fire extinguisher before our arrival,” said the captain of operations, Martin Boissonneault.
The balcony was only slightly damaged.
