A telescope at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles (USA) captured the last lunar eclipse of 2021 on Friday, which had a total duration of approximately 6 hours and became the longest recorded in 580 years. A ‘time-lapse’ published by the institution shows in just one minute how the Earth’s natural satellite gradually darkens and finally turns slightly red at its peak, where it appears to be behind a haze.
