B group revealed. Mother. German BMW – America’s branch – announced its new X-Flow car, which changes its color between white, black and gray at the push of a button, using electronic ink technology (E-Ink).
The new car paint contains millions of micro-capsules with a diameter equal to the thickness of a human hair, and inside them are white negatively charged and black positively charged pigments.
Depending on the setting chosen, stimulation by an electric field causes white or black pigments to collect on the surface of the microcapsule, giving the car body the desired colour.
