The Russians managed to obtain a GMLRS Unitary missile, the missile used by the M270 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System or M142 HIMARS mobile launchers following such a projectile was intercepted near Donetsk, but was not destroyed – in fact the missile fell and remained largely intact.

The event took place on Saturday, near the Budionovsky district of Donetsk.

The Ukrainians would have launched an attack with GMLRS missiles either launched with the M270 system or with the M142 HIMARS.

The Russians would have managed to intercept at least some of them with anti-aircraft systems, but a missile of the type GMLRS M31 Unitary fell and did not detonate.

The M31 Unitary is a missile with a warhead of regarding 91 kg and a range of up to 92 kilometers.

The rocket that fell close to inhabited areas, and was immediately surrounded by both the curious and the Russian forces.

The missile remained largely intact, including fuselage elements and the integral warhead.

Inside, the Russians also found the electronic elements, the circuit boards that belong to the guide, which from the pictures seem to have been kept intact.
