A donation of 1,000 refurbished mobile devices has been made to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress for distribution to families in the eastern country who need them.

“To avail of the offer, newcomers will only need to bring their mobile phone and present identification, be it a passport, Ukrainian identity card or temporary residence permit, and proof of entry into Canada, such as a work or study permit, a travel visa or a temporary residence permit, in one of the eight participating Videotron stores,” the supplier said in a press release on Thursday.

The offer applies to Ukrainians who have arrived since last January 1 and will run until July 31, 2022.

Access to the Ukraine 24 news channel and the waiving of international call charges from Canada to Ukraine have also been extended until July 31.
