While the Viennese SPÖ’s proposal at the weekend to abolish school-leaving exams and grades sparked loud outrage from the ÖVP and FPÖ, one party remained conspicuously silent: the Viennese Neos, which deals with the issue of education in the federal capital. There was also no broadcast from the Reds’ small coalition partner on Monday. Upon request, the city councilor for education and deputy mayor Christoph Wiederkehr managed to get a position out of him. That reads: Maintain the Matura, but reform it.
