At the beginning of October, two women were killed in just one day. A 34-year-old woman was found dead in her home in Vienna-Liesing with cuts and her husband is being investigated for attempted murder. Shortly followingwards, a suspected femicide involving a 54-year-old woman was reported in the Leopoldstadt district. Her 64-year-old husband is said to have committed suicide. It is the 18th and 19th killings of women this year. In 74 percent of femicides, partners are the perpetrators, according to a study that examined femicides between 2016 and 2020.
