A homeless man was brutally beaten by several people late Thursday morning, in a place known to attract sexually depraved people, in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district, in Montreal.
The violent attack occurred around 11 a.m., a stone’s throw from a municipal garage, at the corner of Sainte-Catherine Est and Bercy streets.
The victim, who is believed to be homeless, was at the time under a viaduct which looked like an open dump, judging by the immense quantity of debris littering the ground there.

For an unknown reason, the man was allegedly severely beaten using a “blunt object,” according to authorities. Several individuals are said to have participated in the beating.
The victim, whose age was not given, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. The man was conscious when found by emergency services, but bleeding profusely.

The suspects fled before the police arrived and have still not been arrested.
According to our information, the location where the crime occurred has been the scene of several crimes of a sexual nature in recent years.
