Vivo X300s: 200MP Camera, Specs & Release Date Revealed

Vivo is set to unveil the X300s later this month, a novel flagship smartphone positioned for users prioritizing both imaging capabilities and a large-screen experience. The announcement follows speculation surrounding a potential “X300 Max” model, which Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao has now confirmed will instead launch as the X300s. This move aligns with Vivo’s established naming conventions for refreshed X-series devices.

The X300s is designed to appeal to those seeking a premium large-screen device without compromising on camera quality. While many recent imaging-focused phones have trended towards more compact designs, the X300s combines a larger display with powerful photographic features. The “s” designation, reportedly short for “SuperMax,” highlights improvements across multiple areas, particularly performance.

One of the key features of the Vivo X300s is its 6.78-inch BOE Q10 Plus display with a 144Hz refresh rate. This makes it the first device in the X series to support such a high refresh rate, and is designed to deliver a smoother experience, particularly for mobile gaming, supporting native 144FPS gameplay in select MOBA titles. The display will too incorporate Zeiss color calibration and circular polarization technology aimed at improving viewing comfort.

Beyond the display, Vivo is focusing on enhancing the audio experience. The X300s will feature symmetrical 1115 dual speakers, similar to those found on the iQOO 15. These speakers include upgraded amplifiers and algorithms to create a wider soundstage. Vivo claims this setup will make in-game audio cues, such as footsteps and gunfire, more distinct, aiding players in identifying enemy positions.

Enhanced Haptics and Gaming Focus

To further immerse gamers, the X300s will include a customized 4D vibration motor. This motor is designed to provide more powerful and detailed haptic feedback, with enhanced vibration effects in over ten popular mobile games, allowing users to sense more tactile responses during gameplay. According to Boxiao, this will be the largest and most powerful vibration motor ever included in an X-series device.

200MP Zeiss Camera System

Central to the X300s is a 200MP Zeiss-branded image sensor. While specific details about the other cameras remain unconfirmed, previous reports suggest the phone will also feature a 50MP periscope telephoto camera in a triple-camera setup. Gizmochina reports on the camera setup.

Performance and Battery Life

Under the hood, the Vivo X300s is expected to be powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset and will pack a substantial battery with a capacity of around 7,000mAh. The device is anticipated to support 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. It will run OriginOS 6, based on Android 16. The phone is also expected to have an IP68/69 rating for dust and water resistance.

Vivo is positioning the X300s as a significant step forward in mobile imaging and videography, building on its ongoing investment in optics engineering. The combination of a high-refresh-rate display, enhanced audio, advanced haptics, and a powerful camera system suggests a device geared towards demanding users who prioritize both entertainment and content creation.

The launch of the Vivo X300s will be closely watched to see how these features translate into real-world performance and whether it can establish itself as a leading contender in the flagship smartphone market. The coming weeks will reveal further details about pricing and availability as Vivo prepares for the official release.
