Moscow. September 27. INTERFAX.RU – The German Volkswagen Group will suspend production of two electric vehicle models in October and reduce production of others due to demand below expectations, MarketWatch writes, citing a company representative.

In particular, from October 2 to October 13, production of Volkswagen ID.3 and Cupra Born cars will be stopped at the plant in Zwickau, Germany.

In addition, in connection with this, the Volkswagen plant in Dresden, which closes the ID.3 production chain, will stop and will not operate until October 16.

The production of cars under the Audi and Volkswagen brands at the Zwickau plant will slow down for two weeks.

“We are forced to change production plans taking into account the market situation; now there is uncertainty in the market,” said a representative of the concern.

In mid-September, Volkswagen announced it would lay off 269 employees at its Zwickau plant due to low demand.
