Von der Leyen for implementation of EU electricity market reform before EU elections – EU

Brussels/Strasbourg – According to EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the reform of the EU electricity market design should be implemented before spring 2024. The proposal that the EU Commission wants to present on Tuesday is “very well thought out” and “very mature,” said von der Leyen of the APA and other media on Monday. It is worth “working hard to complete it before the European elections”. However, the decoupling of electricity and gas prices is apparently not coming.
