The Nominal Real Remuneration Index -which measures the evolution of remunerations adjusted for the monthly variation of the CPI- decreased 2.3% year-on-year.
Los wages in Chile they complied 14 months falling due to inflationaccording to data released this Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
In a report, the agency detailed that the Nominal Real Remuneration Index (Real IR) -which measures the evolution of remunerations adjusted for the monthly variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI)- decreased 2.3% year-on-year.
The indicator also accumulated a variation of -2,8% to the eleventh month (November) of 2022.
In that same month, the Nominal Remuneration Indices (IR) and the Labor Cost Index (ICMO) registered increases in twelve months of 10.7% and 10.5%, respectively.
By economic sector, “Commerce, Manufacturing Industry and Financial and Insurance Activities registered the highest positive annual incidences in both indicators”, indicated the INE.
The average wage per regular hour was $6,070, posting a year-on-year rise of 10.2%. This value was located at $5,751 for women, which meant an annual variation of 10.3%, while for men it stood at $6,346, registering an increase of 10.1% in the same period.
The mean labor cost per total hour was $6,964, consigning a growth of 10.0% in twelve months. This value was located at $6,591 for women, which implied an interannual increase of 10.2%, and $7,288 for men, registering an increase of 9.9% in the same period.
By last, the gender gap in average remuneration per ordinary hour was -9.4%while the average labor cost per total hour was -9.6%.
