You will deliver Wagner Group Armed City Bakhmut located in eastern Ukraine to the Russian army within a few days, as confirmed by its president on Monday.
“In the western suburbs (of Bakhmut), there are lines of defense. Therefore, the Wagner group will leave Artyomovsk (the Soviet name for the city) between 25 May and the first of June.
Prigozhin announced the control of Bakhmut on Saturday, stressing at the same time that he would hand over control of the city to the Russian army in 25 May.
“If there are not enough units of the Ministry of Defense (to occupy Bakhmut), you will have to form a regiment of generals, give them weapons and everything will be fine,” Prigozhin said, referring to the Russian military leadership of which he is highly critical.
Kyiv did not confirm the loss of Bakhmut. The commander of the Ukrainian ground forces, Oleksandr Sersky, said Sunday that his forces no longer control only a “small” part of the city, but continue to advance on its sides.
