A rent allowance will be put in place in Wallonia from next January 1. It will amount to 125 euros per household, an amount increased by 20 euros per dependent child and doubled for children/dependents with disabilities with a maximum of 185 euros per month, indicated the Walloon Minister for Housing. , Christophe Collignon (PS), Friday morning, in the Matin Première program on RTBF.

The point should be approved this Friday by the Walloon government. The measure would concern just under 12,000 households in the south of the country. “This is a new recurring measure. Initially, the people concerned will be notified by letter in which they will be asked to register. Then, once the system is in place, we will aim to ensure that this becomes automatic”added Christophe Collignon, referring to a “monthly and long-term system”.
