Warner Bros. Discovery Expands MXGP Broadcast Reach Across Europe, UK, and Asia‑Pacific

by Luis Mendoza - Sport Editor

The organizers of motorcycling’s Motocross World Championship (MXGP) have renewed a multi-market, long-term, media rights partnership with the Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) heavyweight.

Through an extension unveiled yesterday, running through the 2026-30 cycle, WBD’s Eurosport channel will continue offering the property to subscribers across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, while in the UK and Ireland, it will be shown by pay-TV’s TNT Sports.

Every race from the series’ calendar will also be live-streamed by the HBO Max service to fans in Europe, and by the discovery+ platform in the UK.

The last deal WBD struck to show MXGP action came in February 2023, and covered the cycle through to the end of the 2025 campaign.

WBD has renewed its rights contract to cover MXGP action with Infront Moto Racing, the arm of that heavyweight sports agency that is the long-term partner of the motorcycling series.

The deal comes with the 2026 MXGP season set to get underway in Argentina across the weekend of March 7 and 8.

It also includes rights to the subsidiary MX2 championship, as well as to the Motocross of Nations event, set to take place in France next October.

David Luongo, Infront Moto Racing’s chief executive, has commented: “This renewed agreement is an important step in the continued growth of the championship, providing outstanding exposure not only for MXGP, but also for MX2 and the Motocross of Nations, while offering fans comprehensive live and on-demand access to the very best of motocross.”

Late last month, the Parts Europe automotive equipment retailer extended its deal as an MXGP partner.

Trojan Paillot, senior vice president for sports rights acquisitions and syndication at WBD Sports Europe, added: “We provide fans with a diverse and thrilling motorsport offer covering some of the world’s biggest events on both two and four wheels. We’re therefore delighted to have extended our successful partnership with Infront Moto Racing that guarantees broad access to the MXGP on our platforms for many years to come.”

In terms of its other motorsport coverage, WBD holds rights – across a range of major markets – to properties such as the World Endurance Championship (including the 24 Hours of Le Mans), Extreme H, Formula E, FIM Moto Endurance, FIM Speedway GP, and MotoGP.

WBD’s last significant rights activity came in early November, as it snapped up rights to pan-European luge action, part of its developing winter sports strategy as the 2026 Winter Olympics draw closer.
