American superstar Tom Cruise arrived at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, greeted by a crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the star who is participating in the world’s largest movie event for the first time in three decades.
“Tom! Tom!” fans shouted as they stood outside the palm-lined festival venue as he got out of the black-windowed car in a sleek blue suit, sunglasses and slightly tousled hair. Some had been waiting for him since lunch.
Cruz is promoting the new installment of the “Top Gun” series, “Top Gun: Maverick”, which is expected to be very popular when it shows at this year’s festival, which runs from May 17-28.
